Innovation Demonstration Fund (IDF) Provincial Funding Incentive IDF provides financial support of up to 50% of eligible costs for approved eligible projects that have as their goal commercialization.  The potential funding available under IDF ranges from a minimum of $100,000 to a maximum of $4,000,000 per project. IDF is a discretionary, non-entitlement funding program administered by the Ministry of Research and Innovation (MRI) that focuses on the commercialization and initial technical demonstration of globally competitive, innovative Green technologies, processes and/or products.  More Information
Ontario Emerging Technologies Fund (OEFT) Provincial Funding Incentive A discretionary, non-entitlement investment program, the OETF is a $250 million fund that will commit a maximum of $50 million per year for five years. Investments will be made alongside qualified co-investors in innovative, high-growth Ontario companies. Only Qualified Investors — those approved as eligible to submit a potential investment opportunity for consideration — can propose investments to the fund.  Companies interested in investment must work through the Qualified Investors. The OETF will co-invest — with qualified venture capital funds and other private investors — directly into companies working within the focus areas defined by Ontario’s Innovation Agenda. Ontario Tax Exemption For Commercialization (OTEC) Provincial Funding Incentive OTEC applies to newly established corporations in priority areas, and offers a refund of corporate income tax and corporate minimum tax paid for a qualifying corporation’s first ten taxation years. Please see the OTEC Program Information Guide for details of eligibility criteria, including definitions of qualifying corporation, eligible commercialization business and eligible intellectual property, etc. as relevant to the OTEC. OTEC is aimed at supporting innovation in Ontario’s economy by encouraging the commercialization of intellectual property which has been developed by qualifying Canadian universities or colleges. The Health Technology Exchange (HTX) Provincial Funding Incentive HTX helps Ontario's scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs commercialize their ideas into innovative medical and assistive technology products. Eligibility varies acccording to the type of program. Please refer to the link provided for further details. The HTX accelerates innovation, commercialization and growth of Ontario’s medical and assistive technologies sector by providing Ontario scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs with funding, market research and intelligence and networking opportunities. Ontario Investment Accelerator Fund (IAF) Provincial Funding Incentive The fund invests up to $500,000 in companies that have the potential to be global leaders in their field and provide sustainable economic benefit to Ontario. The IAF invests in early-stage, high-potential companies that have no significant revenue or investment. The (IAF) accelerates the growth of new technology companies being established in Ontario, and positions them for further investment by Angels and VCs. More Information
Ontario Research Fund (ORF) Provincial Funding Incentive ORF aims to keep Ontario’s researchers at the leading-edge. Eligibility varies acccording to the type of program. Export Market Access (EMA) Provincial Funding Incentive The EMA is a 50/50 cost-sharing grant program. Please refer to link provided for further information. The EMA assists SME's to access and expand their growth in new international markets beyond the US. More Information
Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) Funds Provincial Funding Incentive The CFI normally funds up to 40% of a project's infrastructure costs. Universities, colleges, hospitals and not-for-profit research institutions that have been recognized as eligible by CFI can apply. The CFI's mandate is to strengthen the capacity of Canadian universities, colleges, research hospitals and non-profit research institutions to carry out world-class research and technology development that benefits Canadians.
