In the summertime, Torontonians can enjoy one of Lake Ontario's many beaches, the regions golf courses or make the 90 minute trek northward to visit Ontario's scenic Cottage Country. Ontario is home to thousands of miles of spectacular forests, pristine lakes and rivers, beautiful beaches and world famous parks.
Parks
Toronto is known as the City within a Park, enriched by a wonderful park system and beautiful open spaces. Torontonians enjoy 90km of paved trails which are perfect for walking, jogging, hiking or cycling. Toronto's beaches along Lake Ontario are noted worldwide. A favourite summer destination, the east-end neighbourhood known as the Beach offers visitors a long Boardwalk, sandy beaches and beautiful parks and gardens. In addition, as part of the massive redevelopment of the Toronto Waterfront, the City recently reclaimed former industrial lands transforming them into new beaches and parkland for residents to enjoy. For bird watching enthusiasts, the city also provides excellent viewing of colonial waterbirds, waterfowl and shorebirds.

Cottage Country
Just 90 minutes north of Toronto by car lies 2,500 square miles of spectacular forests, pristine lakes and rivers, beautiful beaches and world famous parks. This scenic area, known locally as Cottage Country, is a favourite retreat for Torontonians particularly during the hot summer months.
Golf
One of the most densely populated areas in terms of golf courses, the Toronto region boasts a variety of course styles (public and private) to suit every skill level. City courses charge reasonable fees and are often easily accessible by public transit.
